Children in Scotland Roadshow

Jun. 7th 2008

When national agency Children in Scotland recently commissioned Red Harbour to run a series of high profile consultation events across Scotland, we faced an enormous challenge.

Red Harbour was required to support marketing the events, put in place delegate registration systems, negotiate venues, liase with key speakers, attend to each step of the process and – all within a short four week timeframe.

Fortunately, Red Harbour Events rose to the challenge.

Work commenced in May 2008, and we knew we had to roll up our sleeves to ensure a successful event would be on the road by June.

The work involved marketing the event to a wide target audience including local authorities, the education and health sectors and, most importantly, Scotland’s families.

The Children in Scotland Roadshow 2008 was attended by a total of 573 delegates in five days – a true example of how successful event planning can bring tangible results.

Claire Hunter, Director of Red Harbour Events, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an important government event that will have long-term relevance to communities. We were delighted to be able to help Children in Scotland when they were facing the challenge of a tight deadline, and I am thrilled with the results achieved.”

Jeannie Cranfield, Practice Development Manager from Children in Scotland said: “Claire has proved she is calm under pressure, personable, efficient and well organised.  She has demonstrated she is able to think ahead and resolve potential problems before they arise. It is this quality that makes the difference between behind the scenes chaos and events happening smoothly and efficiently, and it is also the quality that allows her clients to relax in the knowledge that Claire is a safe pair of hands.”
