Mental Welfare Commission Conference
Red Harbour has been appointed by Smarts communications agency to help plan, manage and implement a landmark event for the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland.
The Mental Welfare Commission Conference 2009 will be a pioneering event that will introduce the country’s first awards scheme for Principles Into Practice, a network of voluntary, statutory and professional groups working in mental health welfare.
Red Harbour is preparing to lead the logistical planning of what is intended to be a landmark event for the future of the mental health sector in Scotland.
The event, due to take place in February 2009, should ‘identify, capture, celebrate and share practical examples of high quality, innovative service delivery when working with people who need support for acute mental health problems.’
Red Harbour will form part of a steering group which will generate ideas for the creation of the awards and categories, a scheme that will ultimately drive content for the Principles Into Practice website.
Claire Hunter said: “The Mental Welfare Commission conference and the agency’s first ever awards for the mental health sector is set to be an important landmark for all those affected by mental health issues in Scotland. We are very excited about this opportunity, and look forward to working with Smarts to ensure this is the successful event it deserves to be.”
